The 5 stages of dental implant

The dental implant is made by the classic method, in a long period of time that can last from 3-4 months, up to 6 months. But there is also the possibility to leave with new teeth on the same day.
STAGE 1: CONSULTATION
In order to benefit from dental implants, it is first necessary to go to the implantology clinic for examination. During the consultation, Dr. Chirug will analyze the structure of your jaw and ask you questions about possible conditions you have had in the past.
After the consultation, the doctor will send you to an analysis laboratory to decide if you qualify for the implant operation or not.
STEP 2: ANALYZERS
After the first stage, which consisted of examining the jaw and analyzing the medical history, the surgeon will recommend that you perform a set of blood tests, along with x-rays or tomographs of the jaw (only in some cases). All this will then be presented by you and evaluated by the surgeon.
If the surgeon decides that the evaluation is positive, he will explain the stages of the dental implant that will follow and will agree with you on the day when the operation will take place. Thus, in order to be able to perform the intervention, you must present to the clinic a complete list of analyzes.
ANALYSIS LIST
- CBC
- glucose
- Serum calcium
- cholesterol
- Bleeding times
- Coagulation times
- Uric acid
- Urea
- ESR
- Panoramic radiography
- Computer Tomograph (optional, you will be notified if applicable)
Note: Before starting the operation, the implant surgeon is required to check all tests. The lack of any of them makes it impossible to start the dental implant operation.
STAGE 3: OPERATION PREPARATION
One of the most important stages of a dental implant is the one in which you will prepare for the operation. The training starts the day before, continues even on the day of the operation and consists in sanitizing and disinfecting the mouth, simultaneously with the medication that will be prescribed by your dentist.
STAGE 4: OPERATION
Contrary to many people's beliefs, dental implant surgery is a common procedure and is recommended for anyone with at least one missing tooth. If you are in good health, you can do it.
In most cases, the operation begins by performing a local anesthesia identical to any other anesthesia used in dental offices (the same as that used in the extraction of a tooth or a canal treatment).
After anesthesia, an incision is made in the bone, using special instruments. In the cavity thus obtained, it is screwed on dental implant. Stay calm, you will not feel anything at all and nothing will hurt you.
CLASSIC IMPLANT
If the operation is performed by the classical method, immediately after the insertion of the implant, another titanium metal piece is screwed into it (prosthetic abutment). On this piece, artificial teeth (crown) are built and mounted, after a period that can last between 3 and 6 months.
IMPLANT IN ONE DAY
On the other hand, if the chosen procedure is dental implant in a day, after inserting the implant and mounting the prosthetic abutment, the operation ends immediately, with the placement of the crown, bridge or temporary denture.
STEP 5: RECOVERY
Dental implant surgery is a simple and common procedure for an experienced surgeon. If you go through the indications of the stages prior to the operation and the recovery recommendations, everything will go well and you will be able to enjoy the new smile without any problems.
